Surgery has been scheduled

My appointment today with the surgeon was pretty cut and dry. I went in and he basically told me that with my liver enzymes so high and since I am a diabetic that they don't want to take the risk of leaving my gall bladder in instead of removing it. He said that if we leave it in and try to treat it then I risk doing more harm to my other organs. So, we have my surgery scheduled for December 5th (Friday). They asked me if I preferred to do it on the 24th of November, but I wasn't too into doing that so close to Thanksgiving. I have my parents coming in for Thanksgiving and I was really looking forward to making a nice meal and taking time to reflect on what Thanksgiving is all about. I just love holidays so I didn't really want to schedule it before hand and then not be able to enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner with my family. So, I am hoping to enjoy my turkey day with the fixins and then get prepared for my surgery. There are certain things that they told me to stay away from in the meantime and here is the list....... fried foods, butter, margarine, salad dressing, oil, desserts such as pies, pastries and ice cream, bacon, hot dogs, cream soups, gravy, whole milk, cottage cheese, potato chips, buttered popcorn, nuts, mayonnaise, olives, chocolate candy, etc. etc. --Ok, so you get the point as to what I am getting at - right? Basically, I can't or shouldn't eat anything. Gotta love it.
Oh another thing..... my surgeon was concerned about my liver enzymes being so high. He was concerned that possibly a gall stone could have made it into my liver and if that is the case they would have to put a scope down my throat and retrieve it from my liver. Uh yeah, talk about freaking me out!! That almost made me fall off the table backwards. I know, I know, I would be sound asleep, but it is just the thought that freaks me out.
On a great note. I got to stop by and visit with my grandparents a little bit and Cameron even took the time to say good bye and that he loved them. Isn't that sweet? He doesn't even know them, but he still said it. Ah, he makes my heart melt and he amazes me every day!!

Umm, with that list, WHAT can you eat for Thanksgiving?
I'll keep on praying for you and hope that a gall stone did not make its way to your liver.

They gave me the same list. I have noticed that somethings are different for different people. I can eat a lot of what is on the list and be okay but choclate is a huge agrivator for me. I knew that there was no way I could follow that list for almost nine months! HA HA. I am glad that you get relief soon. Is it wrong to say I am jealous? I am waiting for that day. I hope that a gall stone didn't go to your liver. They are watching me for that because if that happens no matter what I have to go under the knife while pregnant. Hang in there.
