Organization Complete - Before & After Pictures

Oh My, what a mess!! Cameron always goes to the doorway and points to something he wants and then we have to go and dig through everything to get what he wants. Gotta love the catch all closets full of stuff. Not only is it a catch all for all of the toys that Cameron plays with here and there, but it is also a catch all for all of the stuff and junk that I just decide to throw in there to hide when company comes over.... quick and easy clean up job (lol). I have tried taking the door off and making it just a little play area for Cameron, but taking off the door doesn't help keep it clean. So, we put the door back up with hopes that it would help and well, that didn't work either. Anyway, it is clean now and that will be one of my New Year's Resolutions to keep it clean...at least for a little while (hahaha). Here are BEFORE pictures.
Lookee There - You can't even see the back of the closet. What a mess!! Here are the AFTER pictures of the closet. Much Better - huh? You can actually see where the front and the back of the closet end and begin.
Ta Da - I separated all of the toys and labeled each drawer with my new label maker. Now I know that it won't stay this way especially with busy fingers into everything, but it looks nice - right? Hopefully if we stay on top of things then we can try our best to keep it organized and looking good at least for awhile. Yep, I think he has plenty of toys and that isn't even the half of them. He still has tons more in his room and in his bedroom closet. Yep, I think we need a bigger house!!

I didn't even think it looked all that bad to begin with. HA HA. I wish we had a closet like that. We don't even have a coat closet or a single close except in bedrooms it is AWFUL! It really makes organization hard. I am with you on we need a bigger house especially with the next little one on her way.

Umm...okay I can not help but say this..how long until every toy ends up out of the pretty containers and all mixed up. I ask cause I have been there and it is not pretty.
You did a great Job...I like that container...where did you get it?

It feels so good to organize, I know! For me, I love doing it, however, since my awesome husband and I have married; I find that keeping things organized can be a bit more challenging, as I am sure it is even more challenging with little ones. :) By no means is Scott messy, just never seems to be enough time or like me, still trying to combine our things into one home. So far so good, but there are still quite a bit of things that I need to find places for, which means ridding something. Most of the time it means ridding something that Scott had because we have new or newer things from the wedding. I am just so thankful that Scott lets me do what ever I want to the house, it is great! Although, my reputation preceeds me because I find not only my dad, mom, sister and family can read my like a book, but Scott, his dad and mom and family also can do the very same thing!!!!!!! What's a woman supposed to do? (hahaha)

I love my house so much! However, closets are very few and far between. We have just 2 and 5 bedrooms. One closet is down stairs and is only the size of the door and the other is upstairs and is just a smidgen bigger. But, it is to be expected with a farmhouse that is over 100 yeras old. My clothes are upstairs because they will not fit in the down stairs closet. It took a little adjusting to because I was used to having my own closet at home. I have managed to become acustomed to it now and it does not bother me quite so much. Well, at least I don't have that space to put junk in, because the Lord certainly knows that I would do it. :) (lol)

Your closet looks great! So glad to hear that Shawn is off for two days in a row. Keep that honey do list close. Boy do I have to, trying to catch some time for Scott to work on that list is like trying to find that stinkin' needle in the hay stack! :) Oh well, the life of a farmer's wife. :) It is always what I have wanted and wouldn't change it for anything. :)

Love and hugs,
Stacey :)

It looks great! Here's a tip on keeping it that way:

take a closeup picture of one item that goes in that drawer and tape it onto the front of the drawer. Then Cameron can match the toy to the picture and make a game of putting them back- in the right place!

Organiztion always makes you feel so much better huh! Doesn't last very long at my house, but it feels good for the short time that it does!
